Dewey Rap

Refrain: Just listen to my story about a man called Melvil Dewey.

He created the Dewey system (2x) in 1876.

It is used for non-fiction books and it divides books into 10 major areas (3x) Hit it!
I. Triple O’s General References. General knowledge, Atlas, Encyclopedia, Almanacs and World Records; A hundred (100)! Philosophy & Psychology.  How the mind works.  Books about mysteries.
200! It’s all about religion and our beliefs.  300! social Science and everyday life.  Communities, government, jobs, and transportation.  400! It’s all about words & languages. Dictionaries, thesaurus, idioms and English.

II. 500! Natural Science & Math.  Books about space and planets, weathers, flowers, plants and trees.  600! applied Science and Technology! It’s all about how things work.  700! Arts and Recreations.  Books about music, dancing and sports.  800! Literature, rhymes, jokes, play and poems.  900! History and Geography! It’s about the countries of the world!
